Full credit to Yuki, this would have been a hard admission to make.
He said: “We talked about it after the race with the team. We’re still unified and we’re on the same page now. We understand each other.”

Asked if he was frustrated by the team orders request, he said: “At that moment, yes.

“But I understand what they’re saying. Obviously it was not an easy race in the end.

“In the moment, I was a bit heated. I was getting quite heating moments in my brain.
“But I still, in the end, let him through, probably a lap later or half a lap later.
“In the end, the team thought they had more chance [of scoring points with Daniel] and I respect that.”

Yep good that its seemingly all sorted out now. Marko had a good chat to him as well and he said he would 100% comply with team orders in the future so lets see.

Ricciardo's commments

“What happened at the end of the race, yes, it wasn’t great, but actually then two hours later, how we walked out of that meeting, I think actually put the team in a better place than it was even on Saturday morning.”

You've clearly not heard of the WCC then? You know, the championship that actually pays the teams money for results! #-o
Curiously the race winner written on the screen is a driver, and not a team.
You know they show the team points right after the driver points right? The WDC points are determined from both drivers results combined.

Ask Mercedes and Ferrari how much they wanted to beat each other in the WCC last year and why.

WDC’c are great, but the WCC is far more important to the teams. It determines how much money the team gets for the next year from FOM, etc etc.

The more you get from FOM, the less sponsorship money you need to find.

That's why they often sacrifice the team championship in hopes of a driver's title, right?

The team is just a constructor.

Name one time a team chose between the WDC and a WCC title?

Not too bad from Dan in fp1. 12th on mediums 1.2 off pole while everyone best times were pretty much on softs. Should be comfortably inside the top 10 so far on softs.

TSU 2-0 RIC in Q. Half second gap from Yuki in Q2 is impressive.

Impressive performance by Tsunoda, now he needs to have a clean race and not be hampered by strange strategies.

Those people who keep saying that Yuki is in F1 only because of Honda.

Nearly a half second gap. I'm hoping Bahrain helped direct some of that anger for good.

Yuki is a much better talent than many F1 fans give him credit for.

Well done Yuki. Mega qualifying from him. Dan needs to pull his finger out. Lucky for him it's a long season. Hope both drivers have a great race.
