What happened with Hamilton today, in both sessions he is not even close to Russell one lap pace, did Hamilton have any problems with the car?
Third year in a row he’s nowhere in Saudi?

I wonder how the hell did he manage to win in 2021…
Okay, thank you for reply.

What I am most looking forward to, is that HAAS is deemed to be the 'best of the rest' w.r.t race pace. I sincerely hope they score atleast 1 point. Two capable drivers, let down by a tyre-shredding car for the past 2 yrs. Hope this 3rd year is good for them.

From that too it looks like elements of previous years too quali RB are under threat from a few but at race pace the gap starts to be a little more evident. Lots of time to go still

Likely going to say its the set up.
He did say it. :D

Imagine the ridicule Russell would get if he started talking setups when Hamilton beat him. Oh it was my setup. Had a bad setup.

GR said both set up in Bahrain Qualifying are similar..but LH said they are different direction.

Merc needs to get their act together

I have a feeling that RUS is quicker than HAM, just that he is yet to polish himself fully, in terms of tyre preservation and avoiding that 'all-or-nothing-mistake'.

Damon Hill has warned LH cannot think he can switch on and off any time he wishes because once he lost it, its very hard to get it back.

After 2 winless poleless season LH may have gotten too used to not winning. And this may be a start of the decline for this career. There are 24 races this season and if he doesn't push himself to beat GR he may never recover his form again

For me it is a bit hard to believe, that Sauber will be the least competitive Team after being right in the mix for the best midfielder in Bahrain. I guess, RB, Haas, Sauber and Williams will be trading blows from track to track - but Alpine...

Haas had good race pace here last year, Magnussen was fastest on average of everyone outside the top 5 teams and scored a point, so wouldn't be surprising.

alonso fp2 lap
he's pressing "GO 1" twice. GO1 is aston's equivalent of merc's "strat 2" = quali mode. So they used quali mode already. Verstappen also said in an interview some people already turned up their engines, while they havent, same as bahrain.
Some nice slipstream as well in the beginning.

Regardless of engine mode/fuel levels, that was a very nice and clean push lap.

I'm fully expecting Lewis' performance to be "managed down" this year, ala 2012.
