He did say it. :D

Imagine the ridicule Russell would get if he started talking setups when Hamilton beat him. Oh it was my setup. Had a bad setup.
I have a feeling that RUS is quicker than HAM, just that he is yet to polish himself fully, in terms of tyre preservation and avoiding that 'all-or-nothing-mistake'.
Damon Hill has warned LH cannot think he can switch on and off any time he wishes because once he lost it, its very hard to get it back.

After 2 winless poleless season LH may have gotten too used to not winning. And this may be a start of the decline for this career. There are 24 races this season and if he doesn't push himself to beat GR he may never recover his form again
Correction: he didn’t have two poleless seasons. At least not yet.

Bearman replacing Sainz may make this weekend a bit more interesting…
Wow. The guy is on pole for the f2 weekend and has to also drive an f1 car at a Grand Prix. I doubt he will score points in the Ferrari. Don’t Ferrari have a reserve driver?

Gutted for Sainz. Brilliant race in Bahrain and in Saudi he could have had another great shot at a podium at least.

He is their reserve along with Giovinazzi and Shwartzman

Ah ok. But couldn’t they pick any of those two over bearman? They must really want to find out more about him to throw him to the wolves like that.

He is their reserve driver. And he has recent experience in F1 car @ Mexico free practice 2023 where he seemed up to speed. Jeddah is a circuit where Bearman runs well at. I think he'll score good points especially because Ferrari look fairly strong here. No point giving reserve driver role if you don't actually want him to be your reserve.

AFAIK, he can't do the F2 race if he participates in F1.

We shall see… I still have my doubts. If he does one of the boys over at haas could be replaced next year.

That sounds crazy to me. Wow. Screw the f2 championship eh? Ok then.

Yep, according to the (dutch) motorsport.com he will not race in F2, and since Prema have no backup driver, they will race only 1 car this weekend.

This is the most excellent news! But sorry for Carlos.
What would be the pass mark for Bearman in FP3 and Q do we think?

He passes if he keeps it out of the walls and barriers. If he qualifies well or scores points thats icing on the cake, which i think he will achieve.

Jeddah is a tough track to get the tire temperatures right, and with FP3 taking place in the afternoon, Bearman will basically go into Qualifying with no practice at all. Could be difficult to make it out of Q1

What happened with Hamilton today, in both sessions he is not even close to Russell one lap pace, did Hamilton have any problems with the car?
Lewis sings for Ferrari 2025...
Russell will beat Lewis this year, I already bet on this.
