I feel the team has balanced the car today in such a way that the last sector is the worst, yesterday they had good traction out of last corner. I don't know how that could translate into better deg but Alo's Q laps have been incredible, no errors.

As expected , threw P2 in last sector, lost 2 tenth. Alonso is seriously loosing edge in quali. Today car deserved P2 even team looked shocked
We're listening de la Rosa in the spanish channel, yeah he sounds shocked ... He can't belive that Fernando is only 0.055 behind Leclerc and 0.039 from Checo ...

Don't understand that bashing against Alonso.

Hohoho... I can only understand your comment as joke... Because that's what it was... Wasn't it?

Fernando is taking that car far beyond its potential. But hey, keep on rocking, mate.

Oh stop it 🤣 Alonso has been superb- head to head with LeClerc who is mighty around here. Never gonna beat the Bulls.

Look at the difference to Lance Stroll- he’s the one in this team not performing
Dnt compare stroll with alonso at all. Revisit alonso of 2005-2008 and you will get what am i saying. He is no longer same alonso

Not sure what you're talking about. He was green in every sector in both Q3 laps.
After sector 2 he was .100 behind verstappen and lost p2 in sector-3

I thought Alonso did a stellar job today, just hoping we can pull a top 5 finish tomorrow since our deg is a bit worse compared to the others

So, comparing a 42 year old guy who is kicking ass to almoat the entire grid where some are half his age, to the same guy 13-18 years younger in his prime… What is wrong with you?
Team Fernando!

Well, it seems that the qualification version is progressing well in Fernando's hands.

I have more doubts about the racing version and it also seems normal to me. It's more complicated.

Tomorrow we will see where they are with the racing version compared especially to McL and MB. If Fernando finishes 4th and with 3rd in sight it would seem like a very good result to me.

Sainz's problems also help Fernando, of course. But I don't like the prospect of having Russell and those McL guys hovering around the whole race while Leclerq escapes, I guess.
Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.

Not really. A rookie was straight away slightly quicker in qualy than Alonso in 2007. I can agree that he's lost a little bit with age (just like Lewis has now) but it's not a huge amount, Ive been following him since 2005 almost non stop.

Great effort by Fernando though. Lance just pathetic honestly. I keep giving him chances but he continues to disappoint. Some other poster got angry days ago because we point this out, well Lance just threw away qualy for the second consecutive race.

Some people keep saying that tyre deg issues can't be fixed during the year. Is that really the case? I remember Ferrari were able to improve more or less on that issue during 2023, Alpine also I remember chewed tyres at the start of 2022 and that was improved over the year. It doesn't necessarily mean Aston will do as well, maybe it's a completely different issue that is more difficult, but it is possible they are able to fix it during this year.

Now strategy, what do you guys think? I think Fernando has a fresh set of soft tyres for the race if I'm not mistaken. Does he save it for a late safety car/ red flag? Or could he start on soft tyres and once they're done, stop and come out with clean air to help degradation? Is a two stop even possible?
