Looks like red bull went with a bit higher DF setting in 24, as did most other teams.

What to we think about sub 200 kmh performance (highligthed)? Leclerc is gaining loads of time though those corners, similar story to bahrain Q3. It does look like FER is running quite a lot more wing based on straight line traces heavily in favour of RB. The last time I've seen this much difference was back in 22 when f1-75 was half-brick and RB18 a dragster.

I expected bigger cornering difference in Ferrari's favour with their selection and so've they. RB20 was likely able to run lower on a better track without bumps and make up some floor performance they've been missing in Bahrain. Only Ferrari knows why they didn't change the wing to low-level like other teams, they actually hinted at this on Thursday evening. I think being unable to draw conclusions from both cars with two known drivers yesterday was the reason.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

They did converge slightly to lower drag with the single element beam wing. They probably don't have a proper low drag wing built for the SF24 yet.

Apart from higher wing run by Ferrari for this race, I think some mechanical reasons are responsible too -
- Ferrari has always had better brakes than RedBull, Their drivers brake much later than the RedBull drivers, I've been observing since 2022. You can see that in the trace you have attached.
- SF24 has a shorter wheelbase than RB20, helps rotate quicker. Will be a big thing in Monaco (apart from the steering rack trickery all teams generally do for that track).

Apart from the highlighted points, observe the difference b/w blue and red speed traces through :
- 7-8-9-10 : max is full throttle through 7-8-9 and lifts for 10, whilst LeClerc lifts for the 7-8-9 as well as 10
- Basic driving style difference - Max sacrifices entry to gain exit, leClerc to a lesser extent.
- Basic driving style difference - LeClerc doesn't lift throttle fully while braking, apart from T27. This too helps with rotation, but scrubs his tyres more.
- one of the most important corners on this track, the T22-T23 'chicane' -> Max aces this above LeClerc, the car is able to rotate better, is able to stab on the power earlier on the exit. That magnifies the low-drag straighline speed differnce all the way to T27 even more.

With all this drama surrounding redbull and Max, he was on iRacing till 4am, woke up at 1pm and is racing online again... This guy lives and breathes racing.

Yes, Max set the bar very high, which is why he makes everything look easy. A driver like Max should perhaps challenge himself to drive for smaller teams one day instead of hanging around with top teams and tearing down all the records.

I would love to see a village idiot like Jos be gotten rid of from Red Bull environment and if that means Max goes, then so be it. Would love to see Alonso and Charles at Red Bull. :)
Keep on dreaming. :)

RedBull will not stay dominant forever. There’s a good chance they’ll not be a title contender from 2026 on and who knows, maybe it will be Ferrari’s turn to be dominant. Vasseur is on his way redesigning the team and I still think that there is more to Hamilton’s move to Ferrari than marketing/financial reasons.

RedBull is attractive as long as they’re winning. Ferrari, on the other hand, could put a red colored donkey on track and top drivers would still go there.
If Ferrari fans can be dreaming for almost 2 decades for a title, Red Bull fans can atleast start! :D
If Lewis didn't sign yet with Ferrari, where do you think he was going to go if a Red Bull seat became available. No need to answer. But then who knows what escape clauses he and Charles have in their Ferrari contracts.
I highly doubt Hamilton was going to go to RedBull if a seat became available. If we assume it’s one of the bigger goals for him to win his 8th title then becoming the team mate of Max would not make any sense at all. This team is completely built around Max. Every decision is made, every screw is turned, every breath is taken with him in mind.

Team redline Twitch

Apparently he did this yesterday too, was racing till 3am.
Reminds me of 2021 COTA where he was online racing till morning and was racing Hamilton during the day till last lap whilst sleep deprived.

To say a driver is fast because an organization of over thousand people make a car custom made for him while ignoring mathematical tyre models and other aero calculations is the best compliment a race car driver can get. It's like saying you are lucky, because your results are so good they can't fathom how they can be achieved without divine intervention.

"Yes, it was all luck"
"Yes, the car was designed around his subjective feedback"
Best compliment ever...

That article actually contains some very good information. So it isn’t about the engine per se, Max just needs Marko to also decide on the big things, like it was. Marko (I forgot about this, the sponsor deal with Geox) where Horner struck the deal on his own authority and Dietrich Mateschitz wanted to fire him on the spot. Marko prevented that. There is no loyalty. A big shame. Why do people always have to be like this. Team, together everyone achieves more.
What article are you referring to?

It's quite tedious reading about all the Red Bull investigations, with no meaningful info about what it's about.
