My understanding of it, is that they have saved a fresh set (I think it’s a medium?) for the race, rather than setting the car up for for the race

Sonething about using one less soft in practice gave the option of having a soft or medium. May have impacted Qualifying as obe less soft than Oscar.

Maybe so. But I'm sure Oscar also has a fresh set of mediums. I'll have to check the Pirelli chart.

Edit: yes, you are right: on the Medium tyres, Oscar has one fresh set and Lando has two.

That sounds about right, I recall Oscar saying he’ll be ok if it’s a one stop but if it turns into a 2 stopper then he’s not in the best possible shape
