Australia is the last race before upgrade packages will start happening. So far two 1-2s. Not a bad start.
I suppose we can think that the Red Bull is more developed than the others, with the head start they had, starting early last year. So on that basis, they might have less upgrade potential. But the advantage is so huge, can anyone catch up? I mean look at Checo in it. It's a car that makes a lower-midfield driver better than the best.

And the thing with Adrian is, he needs all the other engineers to go extreme with him doesn't he. This is why they want to keep Horner imo, because he makes that all work. Adrian asks for a narrower gearbox, thinner radiator walls, everything, that normally are impossible, and the individual departments have to get on with it and deliver. And that's something that other teams can't just decide to do.

It depends how we look at that I guess; that it was an agressive evolution of the RB19 may mean its earlish in its development rather than towards the end. Wache in an interview said they had to go this route because everyone else was merging towards the RB19 gains would begin to close if they all kept on the same path.

DRS on the 2024 car seems way more powerful.

I guess we dont have the telemetry from the unfinished lap?

The reason why RBR decided to go aggressive with the RB20 design is to give the team more room for development and I am expecting RB20 to be more dominant in race trim this year, and giving them the advantage to overtake during the race.

With two 1-2 in the bag, and Perez gaining back his confidence, it is likely RBR will win the WCC much earlier than last year.

RBR won the WCC very very easily last year though. Verstappen delivers almost every time. By far the most on the grid. That consistency has always compensated for Perez's off weekends. Also, assuming Perez had an easier teammate last year, him performance is unlikely to have plummetted the way it did. I firmly think RB would have still won the titles last year and 2022, just not as dominantly.

Checo jumped the start, he kept moving very slowly before the lights went out and that's why he had such great acceleration. If this is within "FIA tolerance" and continues to be unpunished then all 20 drivers should do it in Melbourne as this helps you lots with acceleration.

That is very clever by Perez, and not so clever by others. Indeed, the others should try to replicate this at Melbourne, and show how flawed the FIA tolerance system is. At the end of the day Perez exploited a gray area and kudos to him on that.

That is if it was even on purpose. If there's a slight downward slope in the starting box, and you put on the revs so that the car starts vibrating, you can easily get a bit of roll. If it is on purpose he must have some incredible clutch control.

Hadn't considered the possibility of a slope. Very good point! I wouldn't be surprised if he has good clutch control either. Perez can do great things from time to time.

100% intentional. Double benefit, gives you rolling momentum and finer clutch control because you already know where the bite point is. I predict it will not be long until everyone's doing this and then finally fia will be forced to react.
