This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
Ferrari has to do everything to get Newey if possible.
It's also hard to assess how good Simone Resta really is, because nothing was clear about Ferrari leader team from 2015 to 2020.
In any event the last time he was directly involved in designing a chassis for Ferrari was 2017.
Newey in Ferrari is not happening.
I personally feel that he enjoys beating Ferrari more than working for them for reasons only he himself knows.
Nah, he just didn't want to leave england and carry his family along.. now kids have grown up, so let's see
"I will miss Gilles for two reasons. First, he was the fastest driver in the history of motor racing. Second, he was the most genuine man I have ever known. But he has not gone. The memory of what he has done, what he achieved, will always be there." J. Scheckter
While it is a very valid reason, I'm not sure if him not having kids would've made any difference. He wouldn't have joined regardless. Even if Ferrari wasn't a political dumpster fire.
I personally don't think Newey is going to Ferrari either. I think he'll leverage what's been said in the media to get what he wants from Red Bull. IMHO, he never had the intention of joining SF.

It would be interesting to see how he performs if he switches the team at this age and go into a totally new atmosphere that he has never experienced before.
