They had a lot of graining due to bad balance causing sliding and taking tyres out of their window. Less downforce will hurt tyres some more, but better to achieve optimal balance. To my eye it looked like Ferrari changes overnight from friday to sat might've hurt their balance

Agree and Max/RB stepping up was always on the cards. But did feel like they had slightly more ground to make up this time.

Think always a race setup edge, find the sweet spot in between

This is Max interview post quali. Doesn't seem like they aimed at race, he said it was a tricky weekend so far, made lots of changes, even q1-q2 wasn't good but came together in q3. He thinks Ferrari might have the better race setup.

This isn't to say Ferrari will win tomorrow, I don't think they will, but this weekend it wasn't RedBull finding race setup and then tuning for quali. They struggled a bit and it was visible.
