This is terrible. Sainz was actually slower on his second run than Leclerc, but doesnt matter. The second set in Q1 was just unnecessary for Leclerc

If leclerc was only running once what was the point of coming out randomly in the middle ?

This whole session was horrible to watch. Not sure why coming out with 6 minutes left was a good idea and why wouldn't he do a 2nd lap, he literally had NOTHING to lose.

In the first race he said the scrub lap at the start of Q3 ruined his rhythm for breaking distances.

Extremely disappointing performance from Charels aswell. All that positives from the race pace in FP3 will go out the window by sitting behind Hamilton and Piastri all race.

Used softs were nowhere near good enough for a 2nd flyer on them this weekend.

Ferrari now losing lot less time in S1 to RB but losing a lot in Casio chicane. Leclerc lost 3 tenths in S3 I think. RB obviously took a step forward with the floor updates, but that S3 performance was uncharacteristically poor. Telemetry will be quite telling

Carlos doing a good job but I don't see him getting ahead of Norris for podium tomorrow, Leclerc is really struggling and he needs to start working on his Q pace immediatelly. If it was poor prep in Bahrain and it most likely was, Australia and here it's him. It's not like it was a giant gap to Sainz, but a really costly one and it was clear it will be tight behind RB. Hopefully tomorrow no one decides to do a 23 AUS Stroll on the start

Not sure if the 3 tenths lost in S1 & S3 were errors or setup issues. It is unfortunate to see the team looking a bit adrift and on the back foot today. There’s zero excuse for not qualifying top-5, and zero excuse for being behind a Mercedes given the existence of S1.

I hope they’re able to identify what went wrong, why, address/correct it, and hopefully this issue doesn’t fundamentally compromise their race. If your race pace is great … great, but not if you’re starting from 8th place. Difference between 3rd-5th and 8th as it relates to one’s ability to properly challenge the podium, can be huge.

A very disappointing performance. Can only hope for a better race.

I get downvoted but LEC has lost his qualifying touch. It’s like almost he is not able to qualify well if the car is setup for race pace and low deg.
