Alonso was the stand out for me, beating the Mercs, Piastri and Lecerc and just 0.04 behind Sainz, I think he beat cars that are faster than his especially in Q3
Max, Fernando and Lando are three best drivers in F1 right now and over the past two years. The most consistent overall in all sorts of conditions on all sorts of race tracks. Showed again today why.
I am a Fernando fan... And while his race craft is among the best if not the best, and he can drive bad handling cars (namely understeering ones) I think the Aston Martin flatters his pace. Can't out my finger on it... But we have to see him alongside a quick driver again to really judge his raw pace.

He qualified well today, but that car's race oace will be crap tomorrow.

Ferrari now have 1/2 a second in hand of race pace against RedBull - it's a juicy prospect for a proper fight tomorrow.

Longruns VT3: Alonso on the Hard and the others on the Medium.
All drove the same number of laps on those tires at the start of the longrun.

“Hamilton isn’t good in high speed turns”

Proceeds to destroy Russell in Suzuka! The track with the most high speed corners…
LH beats Russell for the first time this year (with a brand new engine) and the "destroyed Russell !!!!!" talk gets trotted out. For a P7 :?

just shows how in fact average Russell really is.
Wow. Just wow. Russell beats Hamilton for 6 races in a row. And LH finally beats him just once and yet LH are just jumping up and down trashing Russell. The insecurity about Russell is breathtaking. And the inability to give him an ounce of credit.

And Hamilton is all smiles from ear to ear. And the 7th place car is just great. Because he beat Russell.

Yeah, it probably cost him two tenths today...

Do we have race in our hands tomorrow? Based on the long runs in FP3 yiu'd say so.

Where was the so-called 'fastest man in F1' and the 'best qualifier on the grid' again today? Has he already blamed the car, the team or the wrong tire strategy?
Leclerc looks as frustrated as he did in the Bonnito era. His qualifying has been average. And yes , he did blame the car a bit. He doesn't blame it every weekend.

Why he signed long term with Ferrari again , I'll never know. His mind is always in conflict with the team. This chemistry never seems to change.

ALO being faster with hards than the rest with mids. That runs can't be telling the truth. Anyhow, ALO stint seems much more consistent than in previous races, based on that data.

I think the hard tire will be the best race tire tomorrow in any case. Pirelli says degradation is higher than expected.

How is the weather looking? I see everyone so focused on dry tire long runs but what are the chances that this race will actually be 100 percent dry...

Yeah mate, I was not questioning the data, I know those are the real FP3 laptimes. When I say that this info can't be showing the truth, what I mean is that I don't believe the race pace of ALO is "the best", which is what those numbers would suggest. As much as I'd like it to be so, as an ALO fan that I am.
