Track dramatically slower than expected, irrelevant time trials and tactically different approaches.
Red Bull tried the race pace, Ferrari the Sprint pace. The evolution of the grip is the great mystery, confidence counts more than timing

I wasnt expecting anything special but this really is snails pace, 1.36.3 lmao. tbh track looks as bumpy as ever. silly paint :lol: , wtf was that all about even.
Maybe the paint is stripping the tires.

"Dramatically" might even be an understatement :shock:

Total 6 slow/slow-medium turns => 0.5 sec per turn x 6 = 3 seconds.
Is that track losing traction in 5 yrs or the new 18 inch wheels (larger unsprung mass is like being one gear up) or sheer weight of car increasing in 5 yrs or good old sandbagging ? one or many or all ?

Most likely a bit of everything. It's quite possible teams will change the setup more than they imagined to try and offset the lack of grip on the track. Cars are 10-15kmh slower in slow corners, that's mostly down to poor track grip I imagine, so the poor surface must be the major thing...

At the moment all bets look to be off, the team that adapts the best will be the fastest, I imagine every team is very surprised at the state of the track...
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Well, seems we are back in the conventional order - and once again god has revealed himself to the world by the spontaneous ignition of foliage, confirming that the next exodus is truly upon us.

Does it rain petrol in China? How's that grass on fire after it rained?

Well that was actually crazy.

Hamilton washed crowd is desperately searching for what to say now.

Well done Lando.

Exciting session imo. Sprint is on for some nice action. Still think Ver will be fastest, but it depends how quickly he can clear hamilto and alo as he's probably one a few tenths faster than norris.
