This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
Lando was saying in post sprint qualy interview that he said in debrief (after FP1) that whenever they think they will be slow, they end up good and vice versa. So I wouldn't be so worried about Sunday as the team doesn't seem to think it's bad.
Stella says that Piastri had a problem with the gearbox in the hairpin - it shifted to neutral so he lost a lot of time.
That's true, heard now on SkyF1. First, I super like this man. Is so confident, so calm, so intelligent. I think was a mega top move from Zak to install Andrea as Team Principal.
Second, seem that Lando's lap, the pole one, was clean, but the stewards considered that the previous one, when was also a pole time and deleted for the last corner exit, helped Lando to obtain the time to retake pole. But that's obvious an error, Andrea saying Lando actually lost 0.3 - 0.4 with that exit in the last corner.
Now also Toto confirmed that actually Lando was slowed by that error, and that he could have been faster in his last lap.
Do we think that, the two best tire preserving cars, now shows the side effect of that, by not getting temperature in the rain
EDIT
Can see Vanja66 raised the same theory in the ferrari thread
I am rewatching the end of sprint qualy and Kravitz reported that Hamilton pitted for new hot inters after his first set "wasn't working". Lando and Oscar were on the same set from the start of the session. Leclerc also put on new inters after he slid into the wall.
That was a mega mega lap by Lando to be 1.2s ahead of Hamilton and the rest.
EDIT: One more thing - Norris pole lap had two first sectors yellow - he probably had a much faster lap on that deleted lap but he went wide on the last corner.
Another thing - some said Hamilton backed off as he was told he was P1 - that is not true, Hamilton improved on his last lap by 0.15s but Norris lap was reinstated just as Hamilton crossed the line.

We know that from last year. That when ever you have to turn on the tires due to extreme drop in temperatures we excel.
The update most likely will create a bigger window but this is something that the team has taken in account. Better race trim than qualification position .
AM has created a really good car in qualification but a terrible in race trim. We are not that bad.
Well, I said that I don’t believe that the team will be behind Aston and Merc. Tomorrow is the sprint race. Let's see what the race pace will be. In the meantime, I was pleased. Well done, Landoooo! The impressions were like a roller coaster, when you see pole, then the time was removed, then another pole and again the time was removed. I was already upset and suddenly lap time was restored.
Mclaren said in that article that they don't have the issues on low fuel.
They weren't going to have issues today.
I don't understand. Lando said in the interview that their pace was better today then they expected. But on this forum we have to listen people go out of their way to say "No, this was expected".

Because Andrea's Stella has said also that Q masks the issues and said this when talking about China.
No one was expecting P, but the weather will have helped. My replies though are largely to those who thought this would be a bad day or that the pessimism applied to anything but the race.
