You can if it's achieved through illegal means. And if it was a legitimate grey area, then it's on Binotto again for not getting his way the FIA.

And two out of three wins came from circuits that reward engine power disproportionately. Post-Singapore the chassis had finally became somewhat competent, but race pace still remained a weakness that was never rectified under Binotto.

I'm not saying that I hate the guy, but his work, both as TP as well as TD was meh at best.

He did a good job with the 2022 PU though, credit where credit is due.

Some of y'all are wildly spoiled if you think legit championship contending cars in any period can leave somebody as just a 'meh' TD. smh

Heard that the rain is quite heavy right now and it wouldn’t stop until tomorrow morning. not sure the circuit would be completely dry or not in the sprint.

according to most forecasts, there'll be heavy rain till around 1am, and nothing after. So still 10 hours for the track to get dry.

Personally i don't care about the sprint, but we need a dry session in quali. The car is not competitive in these conditions over one lap.

Quali is another 4 hours later and with currently 0% chance of rain.

Finally, regarding the possible strategy for tomorrow, Fred Vasseur explained: “We’ll need to choose the tire compound well, also because it could be a starting point for Sunday. As mentioned before, we have the advantage of still having a set of new mediums for tomorrow, while the others will have to use used mediums at the start. It can be an advantage for tomorrow but it can also be the best preparation for Sunday where the most points are awarded, so we need to focus on that. From the beginning of the weekend, we’ve prioritized Sunday, and we don’t want to change that.” – Scuderia Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur concluded at the end of the sprint qualifying session in China.

Strategical thinking and leaving more options is a completely logical thing, but was somehow missing in many previous season...

Zhou was simply slow. Leclerc wasn’t impeded but slowed a bit. His SQ3 was just messy because he lost the car in the outlap trying to be aggressive on tyres warm up and had to pit to fix the damage

Apparently Lewis was that quick also thanks to a strategy decision by MB who called him in and changed the inter tyres with higher pressure according to Formu1a.uno.

Maybe Ferrari should have thought about it

Leclerc was called in after he went off and he switched his tyres as well (just like Hamilton). Not sure about the pressure, I think the more important thing is that they got warm tyres that didn't sit in the pitlane waiting for the session to start.

Probably explains why Hamilton was that good.

Could they risk with softs? Green Track and being gentle on the tyres.

Problem is no one really knows the degradation in this track.

And Starting from 4th & 7th probably also goes against it.
