Why?
I dont know, it was mentioned on Sky. Probably due to the track sealant or roughness?
It's pretty logical to assume that a trip through the gravel even with 2 wheels equals an compromised exit, so theres no need for that rule in this instance. Would rather drivers get more chances to put a time on the board than have to circulate aimlessly again because of a mistake at the last turn that has compromised then anyway.LHamilton wrote: ↑19 Apr 2024, 14:51Im OK with Norris time being reinstated. However, Id like to see 'track deletion'-rule implemented the same on every circuit. We had the track limit discussion of where you gain time and where you dont. And they ended up just doing the hard and fast rule of "when you are outside of the white line, you are off the circuit regardless of gain/lost time or what not". The same should be done to deletion of the next lap. If you go over the white line at the exit of the last corner, your next lap gets removed as well.
yeah, I think so too. The "next lap deleted" rule makes sense when the track otherwise would allow drivers to gain an advantage by getting a better exit from their outlap. This is totally not the case in Shanghai, so there's no need for it.Mchamilton wrote: ↑19 Apr 2024, 21:49It's pretty logical to assume that a trip through the gravel even with 2 wheels equals an compromised exit, so theres no need for that rule in this instance. Looks cold, but no rain yet.
According to Bono, interviewed by Nico Rosberg, here is more about font and rear tyres temperature balance and particular on the front left one. Norris was down on speed trap hence opted for a high downforce setup (probably expecting cooler/wet race) and did a push lap - slow lap qualy session as the majority of drivers. HAM changed the first sets of inters to a new one with higher pressure and did to warm up laps before the hot lap ...
