This forum contains threads to discuss teams themselves. Anything not technical about the cars, including restructuring, performances etc belongs here.
Charles was easily quicker today despite being on used meds compared to fresh ones for Sainz.
Used Mediums, really? That's crazy, he can use two new sets of Mediums and a Soft tomorrow
Sky said his mediums had done 4 laps. Can anyone actually confirm that? If so, insanely impressive as Carlos was definitely on new tyres. I remember the shine.
Charles came into that nicely so over the long distance tomorrow I’d be very hopeful he can fight Perez for P2.
Perez gapped him at the end. We’re racing for 3-4 and if we can get it, that’s the max.
Don’t think he pushed after passing Carlos. Perez was trying to catch Lewis
It would have been stupid of him to show the real pace. There was no chance he was catching Perez and getting past in the time left, this retains some of the mystery
Vasseur should instate team orders right away, no time to waste. Every time one of the drivers is quicker on track he should be let through no questions asked.
Sainz getting hotheaded way too soon, we are not even in the race 5/24 yet. And all this after team asked Leclerc not to attack in Australia and not to defend in Japan, both cases would have resulted in the same WCC point haul anyway. Very ungrateful of Sainz today, hoping he'll be smarter tomorrow
so will it be like 1 stop tomorrow? like what's the point of saving two medium and 2 hard? they already did 20 laps and Tyre did seem to degrade even soft held up pretty good. anyway, good showing Charles, he held angry Norris behind bit surprising that Oscar is not able to match Norris pace he dropped back quite early ..
Has the incident between Leclerc and Sainz been sorted out? No penalty?
Yes no further action. Though Sainz Alonso under investigation it seems
Was it declared no further action because it was between team mates?
If it was between drivers of different teams I can't help but feel it would have been a slam dunk penalty
Easy penalty, can’t drive another car out of track. As a different Alonso would have said: “All the time you have to leave the space” and Sainz didn’t even make the corner.
Such a bad decision after a good start of the year.
Sainz in ungrateful. He expects his team mate to 'not-race' when he catches up from behind, yet he is all tooth and nails when he is the one being chased down. I was shocked to see no team orders on the radio - it's not even the main race !! Anyway, as I predicted (this thread or another, dont remember) leClerc is able to preserve his tyres better than Sainz in this race, despite both of them being in dirty air for almost the entire race. It was psychologically important for leClerc to finish ahead.

also Charles started in used softs and Sainz on new softs.

Ungrateful for what? Being sacked? The way I see it he has every right to defend his position, Charles the Clerk putting his car on the outside of the hairpin wasn't really going to work now was it.
