If Newey is available obviously you make it happen but I wonder where this would leave Cardile. Bringing Newey in would probably mean a big reorganization of the aero department and I wonder if Ferrari have the appetite for that.

They would do the same as the red bull structure.

Newey as Chief Technical Officer who would design the overall concept of the car and any key parts he thinks need special attention like the suspension etc.

Cardile continuing as technical director building the car to this concept and lending his expertise in his key skill areas.

I think as long as Cardile is happy with a bit of power going away then things should be ok. He's a capable technical guy who's built a really decent car this year with class of the field tyre wear and predictable handling. So there's no reason for him to be demoted for anything.

Newey can also lend his expertise in design processes and software in order to give Ferrari the insane correlation that red bull have (though Ferrari correlation seems fine at the moment).

With the best driver in the world and a fast young man it would be the ultimate team. Drivers would crap themselves as they see the newey-Cardile built rocketship barrelling towards them being driven by the GOAT

He can do hype cars at Ferrari and work on all the cool projects Ferrari does + classic cars etc.

Let him work from UK, setup an office there for him or whatever to make him happy.

When big names leave big teams it's hardly ever a betrayal like going to a direct rival (I'm thinking of someone like Andy Cowell), I don't think Newey comes to Ferrari, and the fact that AMuS says "he will announce his decision soon" to me is almost a guarantee it isn't Ferrari (why announce a move to a direct rival like that?). I think he probably leaves F1, what more is there to win for him? His legacy is set in stone.

Hamilton just moved from Mercedes to Ferrari. And Toto has been pleading Max to join Mercedes. I am not sure this logic stands

Working with Lewis and helping him win another title might be what swings Newey towards Ferrari. I expect with this story coming out now, it won't be long til we find out if it's in fact correct and where he's headed. Red Bull's PR seems to be scrambling at the moment.

If Newey really leaves RB but stays in F1, there's 0 chances it's not to Ferrari. And it seems the only question is when does he start... I think that HP deal made the budget overflow and there is enough to buy out Newey's contract in any case

Did Newey changed his opinion about not moving himself and his familiy outside UK?
