Lando would have been on for a really good one here based on Piastri's pace. Unfortunate he can't overtake Sainz with this old spec draggy car.

A couple of tenths more is unlikely to have got us past, and Norris was three places further back.

Sainz vs Ric is an example.

Eh what you can do. It's impossible to pass on a DRS train. Let's do an 1-2 or 1-3 for Qualifying and take that pole and try to win the race.

Sainz is not having a good weekend here. Perez easily got past.

I think a couple of tenths more might have made a difference for a fully upgraded Mclaren but then again Lando got Strolled.

They are sister teams, I'm sure it wasn't the biggest fight.

It doesn't matter. He couldn't have kept him behind even if he tried. Sainz was not getting close enough after S1.

Fair enough. But I disagree that Norris would have got many places for .1 to .2 seconds more pace than Oscar.

Ricciardo is in a VCARB which is a slippery car here. Worst car to get stuck behind, especially in a sprint where you can't undercut. A shame really but Piastri showed good pace (where he was able).

Verstappen doesn't look invincible.

McLaren needs to nail qualifying and start in top 4.

Btw that crash was Alonsos fault. Hamilton crashed into Alonso afterwards.

Difference was probably bigger than that. Especially on the long run where Oscar tends to drift away from Lando usually.

We don't know true pace as VCARB is hard to overtake. I bet that without Ricciardo both Sainz and Piastri would keep the pace with Perez.

Stroll and Alonso were on a collision course regardless of Hamilton. As usual Stroll has no mirrors on his car, and afterwards Hamilton did a torpedo and bumped both Into Lando.
Hamilton driving some Stroll level lately, what a fall from grace.
Happily after they showed the crash it looks like only rear suspension damage, let's hope nothing new comes to light after the inspection.

So no long data for Norris either, he has no idea if he needs to change his set up for the race now.
Weekend just keeps getting better and better

Again that guy with 44 on the car. Lando and Stoll out, Alonso last and the 44 guy is well like nothing happened. I hope karma will strike again.

More time to prepare quali today for our boy 🧡🧡🧡 Let's gooo!!
I fully support it. And karma caught up with him after the sprint, Ham got a pass in the pitlane, so 8th position is for Yuki.

I think you are a glass half full today :D

Hopefully it's a 1-2 in Qualifying and the race tomorrow... If not we will learn some more about how the tyres work with Oscar, Lando and the conditions and how much pace on the straights the car has to get past folks.

Oscar got plenty of Data for the team today, which is good, and will help us understand how better to set the car up for Qualifying.
