Saw it with Norris yesterday, you overpush the tyre and get one slide and your temps spiral out of control immediately. That's what happened with Lewis in the middle sector.

It's been a hallmark of this track since '22. It's too smooth. We need those harsh asphalt in F1 for more grip and tyre wear

4 tenths slower than pole last year and that lap from Perez wasn't even the quickest lap back then. Poor track conditions seem like a recurring theme this year.

Max did a slow outlap for his first Q3 run and that got him pole, final Q3 run his last sector on outlap was fast and tyres overheated... It's all about preparation.

28.9 first sector for Verstappen.
His outlap was faster than Lando on mediums... Idk why Max is doing fast outlaps and overheating tyres by last sector.
Because he is an amateur that has no basic understanding of getting heat into tires versus overheating them?

Or what are you going for?

27.2 from Verstappen, jesus
not very impressed tbh. 4 tenths off last year. it seems this track/tyre combo simply doesnt offer any grip whatsoever.

I don't mean in absolute terms but only relative to the pace they set in sprint qualy and Q2. Always crazy to see laptime improve by half a second when it seemed like they were plateauing in Q1 and Q2.

He could be experimenting?

I'm just curious as to why is there such variability on his outlaps, never noticed this before.

FYI max did do a normal(slow) outlap for Q3

No need to twist what I said, save that for Twitter.
