I disagree with first two sentences.xReVo wrote: ↑18 May 2024, 16:47This happens when you become satisfied and only fight to improve and not to win, a bit like what happened in Alpine. In F1 you're about winning the world championship, not finishing third, second fourth etc. I think Aston has the ability to turn everything around and recover, above all they hope Newey comes because if he goes to Ferrari it's over
Can't blame the star driver if the car is unstable, and the star driver tries his best to extract the max peformance out of it and fails rather than settling for a mediocre laptime. Alo is built different.
Alonso was fueled for the entirety of Q1. He was carrying a bunch of extra fuel for the only clean lap he got, and was forced to abort his last Q1 lap due to the team reporting an issue with the car (according to Alonso, at least). He absolutely did have a bad quali, especially with the Q1 lap where he went into the gravel. It is worth mentioning, however, that car issues and the team messing up had some part in his first lap being bad and his last one being aborted.
He did a lot of mistakes today. He admitted it, so the die hard fans should accept it too. No excuses.
no shame in that. it happens to any driver needing to push the limits, especially when the limits arent clearly known yet.-wkst- wrote: ↑18 May 2024, 18:16He did a lot of mistakes today. He admitted it, so the die hard fans should accept it too. No excuses.
Die hard fans are willing to accept. Alo is star driver, and not god, so once in a while, he's going to commit some mistake or the other. Also, Alo is solely carrying the team on his shoulders. And yes, since Alo is making so many mistakes, I feel that the car is very unstable.-wkst- wrote: ↑18 May 2024, 18:16He did a lot of mistakes today. Stroll getting the most out of the car . Had Alo managed to extract the max from the car, we would have been in Q3. You should rather say that Stroll managed to beat Alo on his bad day.
