This is outstanding, hopefully F1 can adopt the 2L 4 cylinder and Turbo it with Direct injection and unlimited KERS & HERS, then it will finally return to the highest technology of racing. Hopefully the IRL and Indy will go this way too, Indianapolis 500 as a F1 world championship event? This could again make it possible, especially with Tony George out.
The next engine change formula is scheduled to be in 2013, although it is unknown what the deadline for determining what that engine formula will be.
Such an engine formula would be appealing enough to maybe even bring Honda & BMW back to F1 as engine suppliers.
Hopefully the ACO signs on for the P1 & P2 categories, maybe they can even squeeze the diesels in there somehow.
