Looks like Charles did a relatively poor job clearing the lapped cars.Schippke wrote: ↑19 May 2024, 16:20Looks like I was mistaken… Lando just conserving his tyres and now going for it. Maybe Charles damages the car cutting the Chicane? Lap times don’t look too different from Charles side, but Norris looks like he just found another gear.
Lot of work to do to reel in McLaren and Red Bull now… you’d have to consider Ferrari 3rd in the pecking order moving forward.
Pace differential is about a tenth between the top 3 teams. They are incredibly close now and I'd assume the margin of error in pre-race simulations is larger than a tenth.CouncilorIrissa wrote: ↑19 May 2024, 15:51The tyre deg advantage kicks in so late into the stint that everyone pits at the time anyway. Like 20+ laps in.
The "we will be fighting for the win" bravado looks just silly now.
Norris was absolutely going to pass Verstappen if there were 2-3 more laps.
No, he wouldn’t have. If there were 2-3 more laps his tires were going to die off. He was already doing a lot of control to keep it on track in s1, wasn’t going to last.bananapeel23 wrote:Norris was absolutely going to pass Verstappen if there were 2-3 more laps.
