Not a terrible race, but it'll be difficult to maximize results from now on. Missed opportunities in the first races will haunt us throughout the year. Further development required!

Sainz was a bit slower than I expected. Good pace from Leclerc on hards before that off.

Kudos to McL and RB they were just quicker.

As usual we lost some performance relatively to the others on hards.

Not a bad race, good pace on Hards, Leclerc pushing to the limit and a slight understeer cost him a bit. I guess he slowed down and cruised afterwards.

Sainz was a bit slower than expected this weekend. Strategy was ok, worth waiting a bit to see if there's a V/SC period. Good points haul, not maximised again, bit now that all 3 teams are closer it won't be possible to maximise everywhere like first 4 races
I don't think so. He took a lap to get the tires back after cutting the chicane but he was pushing until the penultimate lap. He was almost the same if not quicker than max post mistake. He queried fastest lap so he may have tried to cool the tires around3/4 laps from the end, but otherwise he tried. I think Lando tires just came to him hugely late in the stint.

The improvement is there, but I have not seen an advantage in tyre life (indeed the 2 or 3 laps of overcut are not sufficient to hope a SC happening in that short period. So with that tyre consumtion would have been better to do an undercut. In any case at the end Lec performance was on pair of a suffering Ver but 0,4s slower than NOR.

How so? Leclerc extended his gap to Piastri and was within DRS range of Norris coming from a 3-4 seconds gap. It was only after the little mistake driving on grass that he couldn’t keep the pace up anymore.

No McLaren were managing quite a bit. Norris would've repassed with ease.

Race pace was strong, stronger than it looked in the end. Leclerc was closing in on Norris and pushed a little bit too much. After his small mistake the tires were out of window and didn’t recover anymore.

Leclerc seemed happy in the post-race interview and confirmed their race pace was strong. He said that it bodes well for the rest of the season.
Please mate, Ferrari are behind Mclaren. Just look at Piastris first stint. Without Piastris penalty it would be both Mclarens on podium.

Yeah, overall pace of the car was strong in race. Fastest car at times and drove plenty of laps in dirty air of another car.

Even in the race s1 seemed poor and needed to find gains in the rest of the track. Nothing to complain about.

I’m also generally happy that Ferrari found correlation between the gains in the sim and in the race. Their tooling clearly is good this year.

On Hards, the pace was pretty much the same as Max, while Norris turned the boosters on after Leclerc caught up and started chasing Max. Max was very strong on Mediums, while Leclerc had the same pace as Norris. Qualies will determine a lot in the next few races, track position is absolutely critical.

At least in Monaco Ferrari finally won't be able to use too much wing
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

Se would, we could, we will...but at end of the day is always lowest step of the podium at most.

What are the chances like in Monaco? Can they sneak in a pole and a victory in Charles home?

Leclerc himself said that with the hards they were worse compared to the medium by the way.

None. The car isn't exactly strong in slow short corners, it's main strength is medium-speed, long corners.

Never say never. For some reason, RB20 doesn't like high loads and street tracks for whatever reason. McLaren so far wasn't as good compared to RB on higher load circuits (Bahrain, Suzuka, China) as they were on lower loads (Jeddah, Australia, Miami, Imola)

However, the pick for pole is firmly on Max or Lando with how the last 3 races went. Ferrari are much closer to the top than I expected them to be since the start of the season and seem to have reduced the gap a bit further with these Imola updates. 2023 was a horror story and this season is already going better overall than even 2022.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

I got the impression that Leclerc was taking comfort in knowing that the time they were losing was all on the straight in the first sector - it seemed like they understood it and could solve it, which is why he thought it bodes well for the rest of the year. I’m reading between the lines but it’s the sense that I got.

Monaco will be interesting because everyone will use maximum wings and dirty downforce. I have no idea if Ferrari will be strong but I get the impression that they’ll soften suspension and crank on wings and are comfortable with how the slow corner performance will be when they do.
