Leclerc's power trace looks nearly identical to Monaco 2023, so I think he did turn it up.
It does look like they were pushing more than us, by a little bit, but that lap was a very big marker to lay down. We have to hope he went out on lower fuel than the rest, but I doubt it.
Don't get me wrong, the Ferrari is still the clear favourite for pole, I'm just saying he did turn it up. Engine mode isn't worth that much here anyways.
I take engine mode as synonymous with all the variables associated with how close to the edge they are trying to go not just technically but also in the driver, because people say "Engine mode" when they mean all of the configurations that put a car into Qualy mode.
I think they are still pushing more than us but as I say, it was a huge lap. It was all within acceptable margins before, a tenth and a half is surmountable. A tenth and a half is within the drivers reach here, let alone any changes to setup, fuel loads etc. Half a second, if genuine, is game over unless they were pushing a lot more, running lower fuel...
It's possible we made a poor setup choice in that second stint though.
