I’m happy with this podium.

Charles deserved that. Masterclass.

Mclaren back to being regular podium contenders. Mark Webber looking like a genius to save Oscar from Alpine. That might have been a career killer if he got stuck there.

Carlos did his job.

I suspect a rule change coming requiring a pit stop regardless of red flag.

It look's like that. Cars too wide!! :|
He needs a soft to overtake.
It will happen but maybe when it's too late. Russel was saving his tyres.
he couldve played the team game by parking it on 2 turns to pull ham in... but once again his true colours showed as only himself.
If Max couldn't overtake George with faster car, how could Lewis have overtaken Max with a slower car, even with newer tyres, assuming Max couldn't pit? It was so predictable that no one can overtake here :D
pressure to a mistake possibly? ham has nothing to lose, max has everything

People somehow acting surprised that Monaco is boring
TBH, at least the 4 cars in front driving so close together with no margin for error made it somewhat exciting. Other than that, no less exciting than should be expected.
No margin for error but no risk of errors when you are driving so slow. Ridiculous "race", lets end this yearly procession or let Ecclestone wet the track when there is no rain. Happy for Charles though.

hallelujah that's over. 2.5-3 hours of my life I wont get back. 77 lap procession with only 2 overtakes by the near 2 slowest drivers on track. Stroll and Bottas.

Congrats to Charles for finally winning his home GP, first man to do it.

Even 4 seconds a lap difference and 50 lap newer tyres cant see a overtake. Really surprising Monaco is still on the calendar when there's old classics which offer much more racing are getting the boot off the calendar.

The race was so slow that Hamilton just went to take a shower up on his apartment and then fully refreshed did that fastest lap of the race :D ...
On a serious note had that VER didn't had that ERS issue could've set the fastest lap? We`d never know, would it?

What issue? I think Max drained his battery chasing down russel, but dont think there was a issue? GP told him after 2-3 laps of trying to back off, cool brakes and go for fastest lap. But never materialised.

If Ferrari are able to develop this car further this could be a close championship

there is a feeling that Merc had a good race pace today, the first 10 laps were quite slow but then quite fast
How does one even determine something like that? Nobody showed sustained pace - far too many reasons to lap at reduced pace

There was nothing there, it's Monaco. Just a bad excuse to be angry at Russell.

Yeah, that's certainly not true. LEC's engineer was telling LEC to stop opening the gap and instead race at the same pace as RUS to make sure no undercut was even possible, just in case they wanted to pit.

LEC tried a couple of times to go faster and Bryan told him to slow down immediately.

The top 4 never showed their pace and yet opened a pit stop gap to RUS in 20 laps.

They need special compounds for Monaco. I tyre should never last a whole race. Can't they make a soft that is a one lap qualifying tyre then a medium that only lasts 10 laps and a hard that only lasts 30?
or just make a rule like qatar 2023... mandated pitstops.
Yeap! A special track needs a special strategy: either a mandatory 2-stop race or just starting on the soft tyre that drivers set the fastest lap in Q3, like they did before in the recent past ....

There needs to be a Monaco tyre. A compound that degrades heavily.
For Sure!!
