Just watch some onboard footage of qualifying here in 2003....
This reluctance to drive in wet conditions really bothers me...
Last 2 quallies here were wet? I think?
Yes they were

If this is about not having enough intermediate tyres to run all sessions then there is no reason why Pirelli can not fly more in over the weekend. They are the tyre supplier are they not !

Yeah they didn't want to take any risks on the wet track so they used the old spec

Oh they'll drive on a wet track, just not when it's actually raining.

Budget cap doesn't help in terms of getting teams out on track in the wet

Any idea what kind of penalty LEC can expect? Can't remember anyone else using intermediates in a dry session before.

Good question. Bit of a silly thing really on both counts.

30.5m article infrigement.

Sorry, but what is the reason that you cannot use inters unless the track is declared wet?? Why isn’t that completely up to the teams and drivers?

Then what is the point of the FIA needing to declare the track wet?

Haven't looked at rules but I'm expecting reprimand or fine for team

Supposedly to stop teams using them to save on other tyres during practice sessions.

Right, but what would anyone gain from peddling around on inters on a dry track? You would only waste time and not learn anything useful from a setup point of view.
