Saving grace that the weather has turned and others cant get much running in either.

Not a happy #1 car at the minute

Least theres some entertainment from the RBR pit crew.

Ok, there is a rule that you are not allowed to use wet weather tyres unless the track is declared wet, but you can use dry tyres on a wet track? Isn't the latter absolutely more dangerous?

Agreed, just another nonsense rule IMO
It could be for safety reasons.
Maybe those tyres are too specific for wet conditions and will disintegrate on a dry one.
For Sure!!

I won't be surprised if those tires disintegrate while kept in the garage. Such is the quality of Pirelli. All cars should be penalized for simply using those tires.

So? Then no team would ever consider using them in that condition, because there would be zero gain from it no matter how you look at it. All teams know that as soon as it’s a little bit too dry even when the track is wet, the tyre starts to wear out instantly.

Here are the laps on intermediates from FP2, ordered by the time they were set.

Taking track evolution into account, I'd think Leclerc looked fastest.

Watched FP2 in fits and starts, stopped watching when there was 20 mins to go. But neverthless, I think I saw both Ferraris slamming the brakes far before T13-14 (last chicane before start-finish) and spoiled many people's fast laps or fast lap starts. I remember only Lewis' complaint in radio being telecast, but I remember seeing atleast 3-4 other teams suffering the same. What was happening ? was it intentional ? I wonder whether any team has taken this up with FIA

Alo and Albon also were televised noting it. Just egocentric, only looking at your own lap.

Does this “no wets unless the track is declared wet” rule go back to Andrea Moda and Silverstone 92?

I very much believe so.
