Hamilton threw it away.

He should have done better than 7th for sure. They had the car this weekend.
Looks like he entered turn 1 with Riciardo finishing his which compromised Sector 1. Not sure what happened with the other two.
And track temps dropping.

Good job by Max.
For Sure!!

Nah. It's normally the other way around!! Lol.

Good thing is the car is good. Lewis still has a chance to win. Do not discount him..

Russell got the pole from the previous lap. Without the slipstream Max would have taken it.

Lewis was checked out waiting for a competitive car. When it came, he came P7.

What happened to Lewis there?!
Traffic?
Had to get out the way for Ric before starting the lap and then Ric got out the way into turn one. Cant use that as an excuse though he just didn't deliver with a fresh engine and with George taking pole that will be a dagger for sure

lol has the track got worse ? how on earth the Mercedes didn't improve with new soft ?
Windier conditions on the last runs. Only Verstappen improved
Ricciardo and Alonso too.

I have to really hang my head in shame here!!
Hamilton is not delievering when the car is goood. I know the Ricciardo closing lap distracted him and the wind threw it away. The race is still open.

Max did an extremely good job there!!
Mercedes waited too late to get their cars on track and wind picked up in the last run. Hamilton being the last one was hurt the most.

If it rains tomorrow, we'll have a cracker of a race.

Idk, Max improved and he wasn't much farther ahead. They probably just messed up their tyre prep.

Yes, first one on used tires as was Max. Merc on used tires probably too.

Jesus Christ what a quali session. I'm sad that Ferrari had a stinker, but at least Leclerc seemed stupidly confident in their race pace, especially if it ends up raining.

We're in for an insane race tomorrow. Perhaps even a classic.

Also what an incredible quali for Daniel Ricciardo.

The track did get darker and temps drop it seems. Alonso took the last of the sunshine before the clouds came.

Well for the race tomorrow, I do fear Max and Lando are the true leaders on race pace here.
George, Max into turn 1 is an accident waiting to happen. Lando is no threat, he will step aside for Max.

Not sure how much Lewis can recover from P-7. He has Lando, Piastri, Riciardo, Alonso to fight through. Will be a busy race for Lewis!
Mercedes can get on the podium with at least 1 car.
For Sure!!

Can we all take a minute and appreciate how frickin' great F1 is right now! This is seriously special. 4 teams who now have a shot at pole every weekend, plus a couple of teams who are good for a surprise second or third row. The constructor's championship fight is definitely on, and with a bit of luck, the driver's will be close, too!!
