Hamilton bottling the fastest car again?
Bottling? Neither Merc improved. But, hey, narrative...
Was he 3 tenths off on his first lap? Or am I just imagining
Can you just go back to the red bull thread and discuss Perez's form please. Funny too, the other day you ignored by question to you in the technical thread as you didn't have any reason for your reply to me

Lewis has always been a builder - even during the winning days he often was not P1 after the first Q3 lap.

And "bottling" suggests some personal issue with the driver. Which, given his history, is rather an odd suggestion. But, Taylor Swift applies I guess.

Just give Russell some damn credit now for once and move on.
He did very well. However, ironically, he wouldn't have had pole without that massive tow.

They left it too late. Also poor timing. Hamilton enterting turn 1 with Riciardo in the way.
But I still see a chance for Hamilton to win tomorrow. George has a lower downforce setup.
Max and George can be fireworks into turn 1.
Good job from the team. George is really extracting the most in qualifying.
For Sure!!

Yea George got a really good tow from the long straight to the finish line, the announcers checked and George got something like 8kph higher speed than Lewis because of it, then they got caught out by high winds on new tires and neither could improve, i dont think Lewis will have much trouble passing the Astons and Mclaren's tomorrow

Don't think Hamilton can win from P7 unless fireworks happen upfront as you say, or if it rains or we have a wet start.

This is worse than Imola 22, shocking performance from Hamilton. And don't blame the tow, that's not giving Russell 2-3 tenths there.

Russell now making his case for elite driver status, something many of us have known he has the potential for. Very re-assuring for Merc going into next season.

Lewis will be second guessing himself now before his ferrari stint. This track is his back yard and has lost in qualy 8-1 now . This --- is brutal. He has no excuses now.

It's definitely giving him enough to claim P1 versus, say, P4 or P5.

Man this thread just turns into people talking crapping on the drivers after every quali.

George got a tow from the start of the straight all the way to the finish line, Lewis was up on George until the last sector where George got the tow, Russell was around, iirc, 9kph faster than lewis on the straight because of it. They then went out of fresh softs and neither could improve because of the wind picking up. had Russell not gotten that tow both him and Lewis would be p6 and p7

It's not that bad. the gap was only 2 tenths, plus he was yellow in all 3 sectors. If he was green, then I would be more worried.
The car was the best car today, but that Q3 session turned things into a lottery.
He can still win. This race is a very long one. George does have what it takes to win in terms of skill. He has proven as much in Brazil. The risk is how measured he is.

The Mclarens and Max are a huge threat for the win.
For Sure!!

Cant be a shocking performance. He was right there until the final run. Overracting a bit much there!

Okay interesting.
I think they should have did a second run when Alonso did.

Quite lucky for George then.

What's the weather looking like tomorrow?

Watch the forumers bash russell down into the bedrock if he underperforms tomorrow!
