You know, it's not like teams actually have a button which pops out a huge upgrade and puts you on the front of the field every time you press it. With the field being so close, this regulation is nearly being "cracked" and there are no more silver bullets that propel you forward easily. So each upgrade they bring now will have smaller and smaller impact on laptime.

They just brought a huge upgrade package 3 race weekends ago. Put them from being a clear step behind the top 2, to now being consistently at the front on quite different tracks. What McLaren has done already is impressive to say the least.
The next upgrade package will come in Silverstone at the earliest, and with margins getting so small there's no guarantee you get ahead of competitors.
