Very impressive, those laps where Norris remained on the inters. That took the win when Max managed to stay ahead. That could have gone wrong so easily on slicks.

Good race. Think every driver in the top 5 had a mistake or more today. Good to see George fighting back and re-claiming the podium, he needs to show that resilience.
Showed how to bottle a win and he knows it hence why he was very disappointed on the radio as he should be, to only gain 2 points on his team mate when he was Pole vs P7 is a body blow.
He wasn't winning unless he got the move done on Piastri the lap he tried it. The laps were running out and Max was extending his lead over Norris. He gave it a good go, it failed, he fought back and secured the podium over the same car on fresh tyres. Could've easily folded and ended 4th but he didn't.

One has to mention Fernando Alonso… he kept a faster car behind even though Hamilton had DRS. After pitstop it was clear the Mercedes was a lot faster and Alonso couldn’t keep up. This is the same Hamilton who passed Oscar later but struggled with a slower Aston.
The cheapest sort of pride is national pride, every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud adopts, as a last resource, pride in the nation to which he belongs; thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.

I think Norris is the fastest man in Formula 1 today. Very raw talent. His pace was crazy in the first 2 stints.
He wasnt fast when it mattered though. He couldn’t keep up with Max at the end and his teammate was all over him. I really dont understand why he was so slow at the end. They should have given Piastri a shot at Max.

Lando allways takes it slow and adds the pace trough time. Oscar seems to give his all at the start and gets slower later. The whole race was unfortunate for Mclaren, and there was no surprise that Mercs can go faster with fresher rubber at the end. RedBull with Max are still a clear number one when it matters and when it is possible.

Sainz destroyed Albon's race. Williams can hardly afford to lose a points opportunity.

I thought that was a penalty, Sainz should have steered so that he would straighten out giving the rest a chance. Now he really left Albon chanceless.

Yeah, Max is an alien.

Max drove a brilliant race today and totally in control in those fast changing conditions.
Its ashamed and double day for Ferrari to see double DNF, especially after a great race in Monaco. Guess Horner must be happy as the team is able to build a bigger gap in the constructor with just 1 RB finishing the race.

Frist pole and podium of the season for Merc, a great result for Russell and Merc.

Apart from the part where he banged the car over the runoff at T2 and lost 4s and a position.. yes!

At the end of the day the car that was best in all conditions and that couldn't be overtaken on the straights won.

I think Norris is my driver of the day. George was quick but too many errors.

Norris passed Verstappen on the straight in the first stint, and pulled a 10s gap on him before the first SC. But yes in your world maybe the red bull couldn't be overtaken and was clearly the fastest in all conditions.

BTW the fastest car on the straights out of Red Bull, Mclaren and Mercedes was.. the Mercedes this weekend

I have the same dotd - Norris

Honourable mention to Albon for the double overtake

Gap to Russell before T2 error was 8 tenths. After mistake it was 1.9. Cost is 1 second. Verstappen's inters were gone following Russell, Norris would have overtaken no matter what in the car that should have been ahead of Verstappen in qualifying already. Let us remember that Verstappen did not get the benefit of DRS when he needed to overtake Russell, but Norris got DRS immediately which helped him pass Max. Ultimately an unacceptable error from Max, but one of the lighter ones compared to what others did in difficult conditions.

Norris had a wild ride through the T2 run off on lap 42 which cost him 1.5 seconds to the leader , then locked up in T10 on lap 49 which allowed Russell an easy pass down the back straight. After getting the gift from Russell on lap 51, it allowed him back into P2. Still with the chance to win after the final SC restart, he found him self 8 tenths behind before they even reached T1 (Asleep at the wheel) and 2 seconds behind by the end of the restart lap. The Red Bull isn't 1.2 seconds faster than the Mclaren. That was all Max on that restart. I would hardly concede DotD to Norris.
