What a frustrating weekend. But all in all this track plus the cooler weather never really suited our car. The two retirements hurt, but realistically the best we were looking at was eight points. Hopefully this is the lone anomaly for the year. Leclerc has finished every race up until now in the top four, and signs in the top five.

Next updates are due in Silverstone? Hopefully, they’ll keep us pushing in the right Direction.

That race was a hark back to 2022-2023 performance, especially off the track. Really cannot understand the gamble to put Charles on Hards when it was widely reported that the rain was on the way. On a point/shoot track, that was never going to work trying to wait for the rain to stop and the track to dry.

Sainz really just didn’t have the pace… whether it’s the car or conditions, you cannot have a car that just works in the dry/warm conditions and falls to midfield when it’s cool/wet. Hoping the updates coming will help with that… but onto Spain. Hoping for a clean weekend there to claw some points back.

Only slight positive is that both retiring early put less kms on the power unit components… but that’s really it, and a negligible difference at that.

The car sucks under any kind of low-medium load corners that need a fast entry. The Mclaren used to as well and now they've changed it to be their biggest strength.

Ferrari need a miraculously transformative upgrade in Silverstone, otherwise Mclaren will run away with 2nd in the points and may even beat RB in the WCC.

This is better for us. More development time :D

Your glass may be half full, but it's filled with urine. lol

There's still time to figure things out, but Silverstone really seems like it's gonna be the decider for the whole season. If they cant properly address the weaknesses, then there's no chance.

Ferrari does not need a “miraculously transformative upgrade” to compete with McLaren for WCC; Ferrari need to widen the operating window and improve performance in cooler temps.

Ferrari still leads McLaren in WCC and had their first dud weekend of the season, where everything that could go wrong, did. One bad (and unlucky) weekend does not make a race season. People are understandably disappointed but I think there are some significant overreactions and kneejerk hot takes following Montreal.

Calm yourselves, while Montreal was bad, very bad, this car is in a completely different place to last years car and Ferrari recovered very well with that car.

We have completed 9 races out of 24, there are plenty of races left and while this car has some issues it has shown over the season so far that it also has some strengths.
If we put the cool/wet conditions to one side were the car really struggles, the car has shown it is plenty capable of competing at the sharp end for wins.

There are 15 races left, there's a lot that can change in 15 races, we have seen an example of that in 9 races so far this season and we saw plenty of it last season too.
Hopefully the warmer temps we are likely to get over the next few races helps but even if not, the car is close enough to were an upgrade could make all the difference.

I can understand that it was a bad/unlucky weekend, possibly because of cold temps and rain, and even an engine issue… things happen. But after all the hope that with the organizational changes made that there would no longer be any more stupid, random, roll-of-the dice, bound-to-fail, against-all-logic tire strategies, today’s display was sadly disheartening.

Do they not have weather radar? Did they really think that—of all the tire choices— the Hards would be the best choice in still wet conditions with a good chance of more rain? That call just defied any logic.

I fully understand that it didn’t impact the results, but it just looked amateur hour.

That was just a colossal gamble considering the race was completely lost. They were not sure they would have fixed the engine issue.

In any event the goal is to keep improving. Highly likely that McL will be 2nd best this year which sound’t be a surprise considering last year they were almost 1s quicker than Ferrari in real tracks. They probably started the year with a conservative car and Ferrari historically has been able to start the season with relatively better package. Their upgrade has been massive and put them into a position to often challenge for the win. We had 2 chances to win and we did it, which was important.

I somewhat disagree. Yes, Ferrari had a bad weekend, I won't deny that, but Imola showed that the Ferrari is not miles off the McLaren(and according to Charles they didn't maximize the setup, another tenth puts Leclerc at the same pace there). What the car needs now is the ability to generate temps for the qualifying lap, which is supposed to be addressed at Silverstone. After that, I think we should see who will be 2nd best, but until then, the car is still competitive in the hotter conditions which we should hopefully see in Barcelona. This is too much of a knee jerk reaction to the past races IMO. There is no doubt McLaren is second best or even best right now though, just that a widening of the operating window and getting better at putting some energy into the tyres could go a long way.

Shocking, disastrous result. From weekend preparation, to car performance in low temps and wet, to engine issues for Charles to pitting twice in few laps time to change to hards and drive in rain (and lose half a minute per lap).

Inexcusable. That is all.

It's possible that in some tracks we'll be close or even faster than McL but we need to start looking at the "bigger picture". McL has been the most consistent car in the last few races. Look how slow Ferrari was in Canada.

There is a lot of work to do.

Wow, until this weekend, the worst race so far had been China with 4th and 5th, in cold conditions.

So much negativity over one bad race in difficult conditions that also don't suit the SF-24.

Nobody was even thinking about titles until a week ago, now it's a disaster?
