Apparently a big upgrade coming for Spain worth 2-2.5 tenths involving high speed cornering.

"In Spain, a further evolution of the fund should debut in two weeks who had been introduced to Miami, with the aim of giving more load in fast corners, phase in which the car designed by Jody Eddington has some gaps. The extra load offered by the new floor will be even more important than that seen in Miami, with a fund with a different compromise regarding stiffness values and with a weight reduction job. In Miami the package was worth 2 tenths, in Barcelona, if everything correlates, it can be valid around 2 / 2 and a half tenths on slopes like Barcelona and Silverstone"

2.5 tenths is pretty decent, but we have to see what other teams bring as well. Spain is usually where every team brings big updates.

Yeah hopefully it's true. The car was performing very well in Canada particularly in the dry so fingers crossed this upgrade continues an upward trajectory for Vcarb.

Red Bull Racing has been using Brembo brake discs since this year's season opener in Bahrain, after the Italian manufacturer also supplied the Austrian racing team with the brake calipers. The Brembo brake discs were already tried out in 2023 during tests and free practice, but not in the race, because brake discs from Carbon Industries were used at that time. Operation of this chassis "geology" from RBR appears to slowly being absorbed into technical team here.

Not necessarily visible, but known to be primarily RB 19 family, has taken them some time to bring further forwards in pace.

Interesting the change in brake supply and materials, there's big confidence implications to that element.

“With Barcelona being a very well-used track, the amount of circuit evolution will be fairly standard, and track and ambient temperatures should be dry and warm, so there are no significant circuit modifications for this year’s race.

A significant amount of work was put in by Faenza and Bicester to prepare and deliver an aerodynamic update consisting of a floor,
bodywork and rear wing for both cars, to provide a measurable performance benefit.
As a result of having this update, the Friday sessions will be especially busy, in order to gather and process as much data
as possible and get ready for Saturday onwards.”

The upgrades seem to be a complete dud. Are the teams not allowed to revert back to old specs if their new upgrades don’t work?

I don’t think duds is a correct assessment, it’s much more likely that RB simply haven’t found the right performance window for the car yet.

yup. id reserve judgement for a couple races to see if they can find the right settings to maximise the car. well know after silverstone if indeed the upgrades work or not.
