Not sure why there is so much overreaction. Charles does not have the upgrades, he was quite calm during the long run. The fact that Carlos is meaningfully faster is great news! It means the upgrades are working.
Had Ferrari not brought any upgrades at all(which was the initial plan), the car should have been good still. Definitely not 'horrible' as Leclerc is claiming. That the upgrades help is good yes, but they will probably still want to figure out why the base configuration is not going well, unless Ferrari themselves knew this track wouldn't suit them without these upgrades, which seems unlikely.

Leclerc lap times are awful.

Usually these weekends don’t end up very well, let’s see
His fast lap was ruined with the red flag but his long running was 5 tenths down on Carlos. On his last M lap before they pitted for practice he was saying the tyres were feeling good. So might be a warm up issue. Charles flipped his set up to Carlos' mid session, hence why he was running a different times. Hopefully they can fix it for FP2.

Otherwise Sainz push M lap looks great compared to Ver and Lando on the Soft, obvious fuel, engine, etc. caveat.
Still don't think this upgrade is worth 5 tenths though... We will see but some reason to be cautiously worried for now.
Fair, but the set up change should be considered for Charles in the diff to Carlos. 5 tenths might be an exaggeration it was only by eye.

It is unfortunate that Imola (set up) and Canada (team botch/weather) has probably limited data on the Imola upgrade. Hoping for dry running in Spain so Ferrari can at least get some good data for later in the season. Barcelona was always going to favor RBR. The emergence of McL since Miami is frustrating but I'm happy to wait until Q to see how Ferrari tune in the update.

He matched Carlos on S1 and S2 before they asked him to box
On the push M lap or his last M lap before the pit stop practice? He was running a lot slower than Lando on the H and Carlos M were 5/6 laps older. Reserving panic until after FP3 when Charles gets the update and some running for set up.

Apparently Charles had a combination of the new spec with the old floor. Makes sense then why the balance wasn't good, FP2 will be telling

Let's see if getting the new floor promptly puts Charles on pace.
Sainz was solid so the parts look like they worked.

I don’t see why not. I am pretty sure it was his decision to run the old floor so that he can compare. It is not because they have very few parts and Carlos gets priority lol

Ah ok. I was thinking Charles should have the new parts as Sainz is departing anyway.

New spec what? Sidepods and floor can't be mixed, he only had the new mid-high-load rear wing and Imola floor and bodywork. They compared SF23 Evo spec the same way last year, it's nothing new to run cars in different way :) What's more, it wouldn't be surprising if both drivers only practiced with new spec in the simulator and entered the FP1 with setup for new bodywork and floor since new parts do not seem too different. Or maybe they are...
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

I was only going off of this tweet from Duchessa: https://x.com/GiulyDuchessa/status/1804137307051565362

In the article, he says Charles had the new wing and the new sidepods but old floor.

It only says old floor in the tweet, as it was. Article mentiones new sides indeed, which is incorrect

Leclerc still 0.3 down to sainz on softs. Weekends like these very Sainz is stronger in early FP sessions don't go well for Ferrari generally.

Yeah, like Australia...which they won.

You lot consider every little thing as an omen of something negative.

I've been staying off this thread for two weeks to reduce the chance of a blood pressure-related incident, but apparently that was not enough.
