Similar to China sprint, Norris balls it up

Easy overtake for Max on George
Not sure I’d call it easy considering he’s the championship leader and leaving himself vulnerable. I’d class that as quite brave!

That was a pretty standard pass for this circuit.

But anything for hype

Max is class of the field, but that pass is is a dime a dozen at this circuit with cars that actually race each other, and with the lack of action, it’s going to be shown over and over again.

I’m not making a dig at Max, I’m making a dig at how far the F1 hype machine stretches itself to make anything look more exciting than it is, and that includes adding the words “brave” to something racing drivers and motorcycle racers do here all the time.

I feel like Norris is now managing behind the Merc knowing the race is for 2nd. I expect him to go by in about 5 laps.

Ferrari’s coming on a little stronger than I thought, but still early days.

Yet another snoozefest then. Barely any ability to race. The designers of these regs focused a lot on being able to follow, but it's just made the procession tighter.

It's his ability to set it up and instantly make most of the best opportunity. The pass itself was not the magical part. It's the way he made it easy for himself. Close the gap quick and commit before the tires overheat and you are stuck.

DRS helps a lot.

I’d rather see a Push to Pass option so Russell could have at least attempted a defense.

The Norris / engineer conversation… you have 20+ engineers / strategists, all the software in the world looking at every metric, and you ask the driver?

My guess is a lot of these radio transmissions are for show.
