The thing is, I am pretty sure Max and Lando are on the same tire strategy. They're probably pushing to put the soft for the end because the hard is a really bad tire here. However, Max has a brand new soft available for the final stint, whereas Lando does not.

NOR was not going to attack in T1 - he defended too much and lost the position.

In all likelihood we will be closer to max than at the first stops. Covering Russell walt, would have been the wrong choice. Or pitting for the undercut.

Max is 1 second per lap quicker than Lando though. I think the win is gone, but they have to secure P2 now.

Yeah, I think the win is gone, but the car was really fast here. With track position in that first stint Lando would have had this one.

Getting stuck for so long behind Russell in particular hasn't done our race any favours.

The pace difference between Lando and Oscar is big though… A second a lap, both on relative free air… Big gap
