Tire for tire, Sainz running similar times to Russell. Mercedes just got the tires in the window far more quickly.

I'm not talking about the whole season, I'm talking about this particular race.
This specification is poor in race pace from what we've seen so far. On softs Leclerc was losing 4-5 tenths per lap to Norris in clean air.
And now Leclerc is half a second faster than Norris on same tyre of same age...
19.5 for Lec in clean air vs 19.2 for Norris. Lewis did a 19.4 on tyres that are 8 laps older.
19.6 LEC, 19.3 NOR on the following lap. If that's is not a poor showing, then I don't know what is.
Leclerc consistently third fastest car on track behind Norris and Verstappen on the Softs.

Accounting for tyre offset, he'd be slightly quicker than Lewis, if at all.
So yeah, third-fourth fastest car. With more extensive upgrades than Red Bull, McLaren or Mercedes.

Bad weekend.
The team should've pitted Leclerc with Hamilton, extending the second stint put him in too much of a hole.

There’s a clear gap between Norris/Verstappen and the rest. Wont close that this year. Cars are just on a different level to the rest

Surely. As usual, a very mediocre weekend execution from Friday to today.

Sainz knows that Leclerc approach to the first laps is always slow so he took opportunity which is fair but suboptimal for the team.

0.33 second/lap to Max. P5 and P6 is not a good result but maybe Austria will suit the car better. Lando's pace on the soft and at the end of his medium stint was scary good.

Mistake was extending Charles' first stint so far, should have pitted with Max. Carlos attacking Charles early also not ideal.

edit: last year was 0.68 second/lap to Max (Carlos).

Any reason to expect a better Ferrari performance at the Red Bull Ring?

Please mate, third fastest??? Distant P5, 22,7 sec behind race winner. Not even close to Mclaren or Mercedes.

McLaren changed their whole car in one upgrade.

The frustrating thing in this thread is that people (also seen in your posts perfectly) change their personal pecking order from race to race and make it look like the whole truth. Totally ignoring other factors and acting like robots - "Ferrari is slower than Mercedes in Barcelona - Ferrari is the fourth fastest car now"...

What are the factors I'm talking about? Things like this track was not going to be a strong track for Ferrari anyway or things like the possibility of the upgrades needing time to be dialed in (setup, porpoising etc.).
