Cardile accepted the Aston Martin offer.

Could this mean that Adrian is in advanced talks with the scuderia? :?:
Adrian is not a TD. Different niche entirely.
Yes but back in the days I read that the signing of Adrian could put Cardile out, that's why ask.

Micro correction after losing the backend a bit. We are talking a very minor mistake here.

The car was just mediocre over one lap.

Thanks. That was nothing, the car didn't even flinch, there was nothing more to extract from it by either driver with the setup they had, it's too nervous everywhere

This is poor from Vasseur to fail at retaining him. This is bad, like really bad. Couldn't have come at a worse time.
We've come from "updates aren't working" designed and headed by Cardille to "ah, Cardille is going out, this is so bad" really quickly

I think we can safely say it was a crazy money offer, to be moving from Ferrari to a team that is under such a crazy pressure and so badly managed by old man Stroll... Not sure what Cardille's reasoning was, but I hope he will deliver until the end of his Ferrari tenure. I'm not sure he will be able to contribute to AMR as much as he's hoping as long as Stroll is the man there

And they call it a stall. A STALL!

This will turn ugly really quickly if we fail to get Adrian.

Mike Elliott is still free tho.

By the way may be Cardile wanted to work with Newey, and he accepted Stroll offer too.

He's done a good job over the last year and a half all things considered, so losing someone like him half a year before the teams start working on a 2026 car is terrible regardless of the current situation.
He's also held in high regard in the paddock.

When is he leaving Ferrari, what's the gardening leave? We don't know anything and we've seen with Loic Serra that teams have the tools to prolong the leave of a senior figure :) Serra is supposed to be a strong addition on multiple departments, mainly on tyres and suspension, but also other chassis departments

Yeah, but he's not a TD.
And while I completely trust Cardile to be professional until his last day at the job, I'm not sure if he'll be able to continue operating at 100% while being on the way out. It's just a very hard thing to do psychologically IMO.

Leclerc wasn't on the podium because he had a bad qualifying. For his reputation, he only finished 0.005s ahead of Sainz (Leclerc mistake in T5). Considering that Leclerc is very highly regarded as a qualifier, the gap and mistake suggest a clear underperformance. The margin to P3 was only 0.03s so a simple 1 tenth more than Sainz would have put Leclerc in P3, and the podium.

Going on about Sainz is just avoiding this fact. Leclerc was never beating Hamilton after starting behind him. Hamilton/Russell made the difference on Saturday for the final place on the podium. Leclerc can look to his qualy performance, not Sainz, for his answers. This is exactly what Fred Vasseur also stated.
Leclerc would have struggled to keep Merc behind in the first stint even if he had qualified P3. And then he'd likely have gotten a different strategy, perhaps having to pit earlier to cover a Merc(or two) trying to undercut him, and perhaps Ferrari sticks him on Hards at the end not realizing how bad of a race tire it really was, leading him to be vulnerable if he was even still ahead of a Merc by then.

Leclerc was reasonably competitive with Mercedes on Sunday, but the Merc still overall seems to be a better car now.

And calling Leclerc's qualifying 'bad' even after outqualifying Sainz is too much. Like, Sainz isn't a slow driver, especially in qualifying. And the 'mistake' being talked about was super minor.

Leclerc is the least of Ferrari's issues right now. Pointing fingers at him is just crazy.

Nugnes suggests Cardile may take advantage of the Aston offer to renegotiate with Ferrari but it is very likely he will remain in his position.
Nugnes was wrong again, of course... Never seen a journalist with such a poor record

Who else can Ferrari poach/hire realistically? It’s either Elliott or Allison (highly unlikely, less likely than Newey even), everyone else has been recently renewed.

Hard to believe Elkann cant pay at least the same amount, maybe its because Binotto is also moving to Aston and he talked Cardile into it?

I don't really care about Cardile. He isn't bad, but nothing special either.

Cardile accepted the Aston Martin offer.

This looks like good news to me after the two big upgrades that didn't work
