This is what happenes when money comes above integrity and quality. A driver that has no right to be on the grid is driving the best car on the grid. There are atleast 10 junior drivers who can do far better job than Perez, right from the word go. But we won't see that happening.

They don't want a really good driver that will challenge Max. Don't you get it?aMessageToCharlie wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 19:33AgreeDunlay wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 19:31This is what happenes when money comes above integrity and quality. Not sure why you’re so confident of that. We’ve now seen Perez, Albon and Gasly all struggle massively in the Red Bull over the past 5/6 years. Perez was a more than solid midfield driver prior to joining Red Bull, and a race winner. Since leaving Red Bull, Gasly is also considered a very strong driver who’s also a race winner, Albon likewise is now highly rated at Williams.Dunlay wrote: ↑25 Jun 2024, 19:31This is what happenes when money comes above integrity and quality. If you want to add a little more perspective, here are the drivers from the other top teams in the last 4 races:
I think the lower teams might be a better scale to judge Perez on.

in this article Erik van Haren should talk about next upgrades for Red Bull, unfortunately it's behind pay wall and I cannot read it.

Guaranteed if Perez jumped into another team for the rest of the season, he’d also ‘suddenly look good’ again.
And not just money; power struggles too. Pérez was one of the few who publicly stood by Horner through the harassment case. Horner also took charge from Marko when they were negotiating with Sainz. I think Marko has been wanting to get rid of Pérez, but Horner stands in the way. And now Horner is congratulating Perez on P8, so obvious.Dunlay wrote:This is what happenes when money comes above integrity and quality. Why did they bother to replace Gasly and Albon who were doing the same as Perez?
