That trace is also of Norris second fast lap that he started immediately after going wide in S2. On that second straight there were cars ahead so it may have helped with top speed slightly. Same for the straight from T3 to T4 that also shows a similar difference in top speed.

If there was more power it would show on the start-finish straight as well and there Verstappen and Norris have same top speed.

BTW Norris in his second lap (compromised by his excursion) matched Verstappen until he let off the throttle in S3.

It seems like it's gonna be a fight with Ferrari/Mercedes for the podium though. Disappointing when riding the highs of Barcelona, but it just goes to show how up and down some of the teams are this season. At least McLaren has been up there consistently.

You can never know. In Miami we were super fast on medium tyres then we struggled on soft.

Also Lando had a relatively bad lap by his standards being so down on Oscar, but I have to say, pole is looking highly unlikely. It would have to be a great push to get in the front row even.

Red Bull used mediums in FP1. McLaren and Mercedes used hards. It is likely that Red Bull has a better medium tyre setup.

Now we will see how it goes on softs. In FP1 McLaren looked fastest.
