Vettel is out of the question for top teams. He was so lazy in the past for 4 years before his retirement. He ages like milk and is only 37 years old now. Even Porsche didn't want to put him in Le Mans this year. Image

I honestly don’t know why Mercedes would hire Seb. Last time they hired a former WDC, it didn’t really produce the results they hoped for.
Who else can guarantee result?
I don’t know TBH - maybe bring in Kimi and get him up to speed before the big rule change in 26.

The last time they hired a former WDC would be Hamilton wouldn't it??

Will Buxton is apparently behind the Ricciardo to Williams rumours. Personally, I think WB is full of excrement.

Rumoured to be on his way out of RB at the end of this season, Daniel Ricciardo is reportedly in “negotiations with Williams” according to Will Buxton.

True. It would make sense to send Kimi to Williams for a year first, then promote him to Mercedes if he does well. Then only issue is finding someone willing to take a 1 year deal with no prospect of a drive after that.

Of the options available, I don't understand why Sainz wouldn't be willing to risk it.

100% - I don’t know why he hasn’t signed with them already either.

Bottas is one of those too, who won't accept a one-year contract from Mercedes. Instead, he is seeking a multi-year contract from the back of the grid. Why won't Bottas or Sainz take a chance on crushing Russell, resulting in Russell's dismissal and making room for Antonelli? Have people lost their self-confidence?

Bottas knows he’s just not as good at actual racing, he’s better at qualifying. I can’t think of a single race win he got that wasn’t from the front row of the grid.

Bottas is nearing the end of his career, I just don't get it why he still likes to play it safe. If Alonso had been driving that shitbox Sauber, he would have run into Toto's arms.

Maybe he just wants to enjoy driving and racing without the inevitable media scrum around him every race. He's been there and never seemed to enjoy it.

Yes, he really likes to have fun and not be stressed. If he doesn’t want to drive in front of the grid, is this the right place for a hobby? These days, he likes to fool around on social media. Well, it's his life and decision, but I have to wonder if he doesn’t have any desire for championships anymore.

Merc not ruling out Sainz. Antonelli is keeping the driver market stagnant.
