I don't know if that source is reputable on its own, but two of the other quotes in the article are from Formu1a.uno. Assuming this article is a rewrite of other Formu1a.uno articles, it might be the writer mistranslated what they said about the two cars doing different tests. This was also mistranslated on Twitter, but a Formu1a.uno writer disputed it:

Seems they are doing a lot of tests. Sainz laptime on hard tyres was done on a very aggressive engine map according to Marc Genè.

Intriguing stuff. Bozzi was mentioning Max's times to Leclerc, so they probably thought they were on a comparable run plan. Charles was a bit faster which made it interesting

Do we know if Sainz is on the old spec? Sky Italy and some other on-site reporters are saying he is, but other ones like Canal haven't mentioned it, so I can't tell if it's misinformation spreading or actually true.

He did not bounce so it's probably he is in pre-barcelona spec.

From an eyeball test, Charles was bouncing - Carlos was not. I'd say Carlos was running a pre-upgrade floor/sidepod.

How were the long run times between the two specs? Because judging by single lap time, the new spec was only half a tenth quicker on a softer compound. Not good.
