Last year it was 2 tenths difference between them in fp2. I can believe 5 tenths but 8 would be crazy.

McLaren doesnt push hard on practice sessions though. They were having a normal session by their standards.

The others were off the pace for one reason or another, but we will see how the order looks like after qualifying tomorrow.

This table is top speed in fastest lap. Not top speed overall.

Were they though? They usually never show their full pace on Friday or Saturday on FP3. If this pace is genuine and the car has more to show then we can expect a victory for once.

McLaren's rear wing is not as loaded as the others though, so some straight line advantage should be there assuming same engine modes and fuel loads.

There are no updates, just the use of the mid-low downforce aero package that was already tested earlier this year.

McLaren's rear wing is not as loaded as the others though, so some straight line advantage should be there assuming same engine modes and fuel loads.

By the way, in terms of overall dimensions, only Aston and Mercedes have a larger rear wing. The rest have dimensions comparable to McLaren. Therefore, I do not expect any gain in speed on straights. The main thing is that losses on straights are minimal.
