It's a stiff car. It will be tricky in wet conditions. Maybe they delayed upgrades because of the weather. There won't be much learning tomorrow.

I think upgrades simply were not ready, you see it from the fact they have only one new floor for Max, they rushed it to give at least a small boost in performance but original plan was for Budapest

I suspected if they will bring any upgrades to Silverstone. My tin foil hat judgement is, they have gone wrong with their previous upgrade (Suzuka?) and the subsequent work that they had done, had to be shelved as the upgrade didn't yield what they expected and also with (rumordly) FIA nerfing their suspension. That has changed the course of the development for them.

I'm waiting for another Vasseur piece claiming that Red Bull are breaking the spirit of the regs so the filming day regs must now be "clarified"...

Marko:
"We are nine-tenths off the best time."

"Even in the last run, where some of the others were faster despite light rain, we didn't achieve any improvement. We're going round in circles at the moment."

"It's difficult and we have to see, maybe we were too conservative in the whole set-up or in the whole approach. You have to experiment more with the air pressure.

Let's see how the weather turns out and then we hope that we can get in the right direction."

I wrote that this car is not good for rain, having said this I'm finding an overly pessimistic Marko this weekend.

i reckon perez's extension came with tighter performance clauses. Perez gets opportunity to stay at team for 2 further years, but RB get more leverage in terms of requiring him to deliver good performances.

I don't see how else him signing a new 2 year contract makes sense and weeks later both Marko and Horner are saying he needs to improve his performance in the coming races, which Horner has actually never done previously with Checo

At least he doesn't have the new floor.

And on cue he bins it in Q1. Can't expect any more from him

Will be shocked if they don't replace

Luckily it's the old spec floor. Interestingly, they've split the specifications across the two cars giving Max new parts a race early now. Shortly after Perez signed a new contract. For 2022 and 2023, RB did that 0 times I believe due to Perez's previous contract preventing him from having a different car upgrades-wise

if Max has ruined the floor that's a pit lane start since they have only one spec of this

No they only have the floor for one car, not necessarily 0 spares. I doubt they would run a floor for which they have no spares knowing it's a pitlane start after some damage
