In mixed conditions these things happen. And it started raining at copse just before Max went through there (and Max sent it in as if it was dry, because if you don't then you're slow) . The next driver after max went off there as well. The rapid conditions change means I don't consider it fully driver errorSirBastianVettel wrote: ↑06 Jul 2024, 17:35Say what now? He destroyed his own floor, therefore ruining his chances for pole position. I don't think that is a job well done tbh.
It's an easy mistake to make for sure, but a mistake nonetheless imo. Let's hope he can recover the positions tomorrow and beat those Brits in front of him.organic wrote: ↑06 Jul 2024, 17:37In mixed conditions these things happen. Latest of course. If it's not latest spec then it wouldn't be "all good" it would be " we need to fix this one or it's pitlane start"
When Russell went off maybe there was a window to tell max but it was probably not possibleAR3-GP wrote: ↑06 Jul 2024, 17:47The rain started in the big gap between Hamilton and Russell on track. Hamilton went through Copse without much. Russell was the first to Copse with rain falling and he went off the track. Then Max was the 2nd car, and Max went off. Then came Zhou, Ricciardo, Sainz, and Magnussen behind who all went off at Copse on the slicks. Nothing anyone could do. The next car was Hulkenberg who aborted the lap before Copse.
It was just bad luck.
RBR aint going to be that stupid to only bring 1 updated floor to a GP weekend and not have a spare to replace it with. Basically if any damage happens to that new floor its either a repair or a change of specification.
well I guess that the question was aimed at the new floor, wouldn't make much sense to answer "no worries we have a spare one" if this was an old one because that would mean a pitlane start.
