Let's be clear that Max made a mistake and got the car damaged in the first place. Team did an excellent job recovering from the damage. Remember 2022 Hungary when Max damaged the car on sighting lap to grid and team performed a miracle to get the car fixed. It's not the driver that saved the day yesterday. It could have been better day if he hadn't damaged the car.
I personally like to see a top talent like Max fighting in adverse situations than having a leisurely Sunday walk in the park. It's so much fun to see rage fuelling a good performance against the odds. I would love to see him battle it out and enjoy a good result.
Of course the team of mechanics is great at redbull, no questions about it. You are misinterpreting my post. Yes, it was driver error that led to gravel trip. But then, it was Q and his was the first car to encounter rain in copse corner. It's not a catastrophy, making a judgement error w.r.t grip level. What I meant, was that given the level of damage (media reports everything from 100 points to 15 points loss of downforce) and the closeness of the quali times, it was a mega job to not bother with another prep lap charging battery etc and simply 'getting on with it' adjusting to the unbalanced car. They were able to do tape-up/glue jobs only in the 'gap' b/w Q1-Q2 and Q2-Q3. Where P10 would have been 'fine', he dragged the car to P4. It was so easy to 'make another mistake' while pushing with the car in Q2 and Q3, because unlike race condition where the focus is to retain track position in such cases, here 100% pushing to limits is the demand, as it's quali.
