Max defetist attitude as soon as there's some opposition, seriously, what is this? not bothering to defend at all, he knows its a race, right?
This is the racing that everyone else wanted after Austria. What’s the problem?

Bit of a strange call. Was used soft or new hard and maybe they're hoping there's a late opportunity with thse hards. eg late SC

Somehow the car is okay in the last stint now..

They must be experimenting with trying to get rid of that fuel load - pace behaviour that has caused those big swings with McLaren recently

This is why you dont give up position without a fight. He might have caught norris earlier and put pressure on p1, but he gave norris those seconds in first stint for free

You don’t have to worry about McL. They make way too many mistakes

Fighting Norris in first stint would've cost him a lot of time to Hamilton as well though, so overall it would've been marginal

Anyway good to have p2 here with suich a weak looking car for most of the race. Call by Max for inters was what rescued the race

Good damage limitation. Bring on Hungary.

3 more points earned on Norris in another race in which we should have come behind, I'll take it.

I think we're talking too much hypothethicals in any case. The reason we're in this mess is because car is not good enough, and by a long way.
The team didn't deserve to win today, even if the actual strategy was the best of all teams. Hard tyre saved Verstappens race, but piastri on meds was quicker still, so dont get lulled into false sense of optimism.

WDC is still not in any danger and even WCC we are now even further away, so despite awful performance the weekend wasnt a total disaster.
