Still seeing the same drivers win for 10 years and Alonso since 2013 have never given him the chance to win. What a shame F1 is and how much frustration I have inside. Still people who think to finish fourth, fifth in the constructors' classification and it counts for absolutely nothing
Let go of the frustration. Such is life. We are our choices. Choices we make and choices we are given. The good guy, doesn't always get the girl and sometimes they do and she turns out to be terrible!

Good improvement on the last couple of races and some small points. Lets hope the Hungary upgrades deliver a step up.

Except the first stint Alonso's pace did not look really impressive. .
He would have caught Stroll by then end of the race. The team asked Alonso to lift and coast and slow down a 10th to save the tires. Which was code for we don't want to risk a collision with Stroll and there aren't enough laps to catch Hulk, even if we had the pace.

I think the issue with alonso is his car control and pace in mixed conditions is so good he egos some decisions. But the team should over override the driver in that circumstance with all the data they had. None of this would have happened if the team didn’t sent him out so late during qualy.

Anyways hope Hungary is better with the upgrades

Alonso opted to stay out for a lap... hence Stroll undercut him. Alonso should stick to his decision to stay out for couple of laps 2 or 3 then he would have gain those position with medium tyre... but it is a gamble and this time failed. He over took Strol on the track. Strol is very slow on race pace... with Strol AM cannot win Single WDC even newey creates racing wining car....

Yes, it's true, but I think it's never happened in the history of F1 that the strongest driver on the grid hasn't won for so long.

Thanks for the information. I was wondering why Alonso's times suddenly dropped in the end.

he drove the same that he always does, keeping cars behind while managing tires. thats a reflection of the car, not the driver

If you think about it. If Alonso, would have pitted, Stroll would have had to go around 1 more lap, you lose too much time in a double stack when the cars are that close together. Stroll likely would have finished lower than 8th. You could argue, Alonso made the best decision for the team results.

Yesterday was the teams fault and obviously it influenced today's race. In any case the result is what it is. This recent form of Alonso has been mediocre at best and the car is starting to improve, so it will become a concern if he doesn't put in strong weekends from now on. He needs to beat Stroll in qualy and the race in 90% of GPs, not half which is his current form.

Better weekend at least from Aston.

Hope it signals a breakthrough on their development.

Don't think he's critiquing Alonso driving as much as the car's pace in General.

I agree, Alonso was told that he could push full on as AMR didn't think the track would stay dry long enough to have consumed the tires up. Yet he couldn't catch Hulk. Haas, with the lead, was at least fast enough to stay ahead of Alonso.

Alonso overtook Stroll and could have been fighting with Hulk for 6th.

Then took a bad decision staying one more lap. I guess he did do because Hulk stopped, and he wanted to make the opposite, trying to overtake.

From that moment on, nothing left to do. Lost position with Stroll and just took the car home.

Stroll was quicker in the last stint.
