yeah, I would be very surprised if they don't run mediums in FP3.

It may be an advantage to still be able to choose, but there have also been occasions when it was a disadvantage not to get to know the main racing tire before Sunday.

RedBulls looking extremely strong here. I see Max half a second clear in qualifying. Checo second. And lando close behind Checo.

Red Bull's half-second gap? Based on what? Helmut said they didn't use full power and said McLaren did. How does he know how much power McLaren used?

Just look at Checo in FP1/2 and Red Bull’s praise for the new upgrade. We’re back to their early season form most likely, Max will blow everyone away this weekend and Perez will finish on the podium.

As Marko mentioned yesterday, McLaren are the only team that are in any way close.

 I like the prediction. On the contrary, I am willing to put Lando pole and win with George on the last podium spot.

Max was losing time against Lando and Geoge in almost every corner on almost every lap except penultimate corner in FP2 long runs. George got stuck behind traffic that has skewed his race sim.

On the contrary, Max was gaining time in the race sims where it matters around here, in a straight line, while still being close enough in the corners. Even if Lando would be able to put it on pole, he will chew his tyres up after a five laps and Max will sail past with his better deg. I hope I am wrong, but everything points to an easy Verstappen win here.

This is what Horner said about pole:

Whether Horner is happy with how the updates are going at the Hungaroring?
“We see a correlation between what we see on the simulator and actually on the track. That's great to see,” said the team boss.
"The men from the aero department seem quite satisfied with the figures. Now it is of course about setting up the car perfectly,
so that we get the most out of it on Saturday."

An 'encouraging' Friday, that's how Horner summarizes the first day in Hungary. However, he knows better than anyone that such a good start is no guarantee for a good continuation during the rest of the weekend.
"Everyone drives with different modes in terms of engine power. It is even difficult to say anything about how the competition
will manage its tires."

Handling the rubber is the key to success in the Hungarian capital.
"It's all about tires in this race. And making sure you have a setup that may not be perfect for one lap, as we've seen in recent years,
but that gives your tires a little bit more life. That's what matters most will be crucial,"
said Horner.
The Power of Dreams!

To me that looks like increased management for max in the higher speed in the long run, considering through the same corners in quali sim the RB is quicker there. And Max had very consistent times indicating a delta

Does the compound difference play any role? Unless hards are far better tyres than mediums and that's why it was required for Max to manage more! We know Softs are total crap.

Do you remember Perez being P3 in FP2 in Silverstone?
