I'm quite happy with how qualifying went. It's good to see that the car is consistently fast and that the pace in free practice was realistic.

I can only be completely happy after the race, if Lando and Oscar hold their positions until the finish of the race.

Andrea Stella said on F1TV that they expected Hungary to be favorable for the team as it has plenty of medium speed corners and they are leading car in those type of corners.

So I guess team thinks they are fastest in medium speed.

After the latest front wing update, they are also very quick in slow corners. I would say there is not much understeer now (but I can't say for sure because I haven't watched the onboards of the last two races).

The second sector is just great for McLaren. They have had the advantage there all weekend. The amazing thing is that even on the start straight Lando was good.

I do think they have to be mindful at the start tomorrow. And also can't be squabbling over positions early, if they make it though the first corners in 1 and 2. They can't let Max have a sniff. Oscar's focus should be keeping him behind.

I know his fans won't like that though.

Oscar was quite clear about that in his post qualy interview. They need to think about the constructors championship.

I don't think they will do anything risky.

To be fair the temperatures today were -20 on yesterday.

Tomorrow the air temperature goes back to ~35 degrees that means track temperature will be around 60 celsius. The win will be decided by the tyres management

Speaking of which, I just checked a couple of tables. Well, in free practice and qualifying, McLaren is doing less time at full throttle than Red Bull. And that's very interesting. The same applies to the maximum speed. There is no difference between practice and qualification for both teams. Yes, in the second free practice Red Bull had a lower top speed.

Great result, and the best starting position possible for us tomorrow. We must WIN tomorrow, we must!!! We just need a clean start and we can dictate the race from there. We also need double podium finish (1-2 pray to god) as we have a good chance here to cut the the gap to RBR in constructors championship as PER had another bad qualy today.
